My name is Nicky. I am a blogger.

Ok enough about the addictions - here's a little bit about me and web designing:

I've always enjoyed trying to make my webspace(s) something individual. Back in 1999 I taught myself HTML with a good book and a few website tutorials. I started fooling with css when I loaded Movable Type on to my own domain to power my weblog in 2003. This continued when I switched to pMachine. I finally moved to Wordpress in 2005 and created my first complete theme at the beginning of 2006.

Meantime I learnt enough about php to be able to quickly standardize a template and fooled with phpBB2 messageboards..

I am now at the stage where I can write designs in valid xhtml 1.0 transitional and css. I have very high standards and try and check all my designs on every possible PC browser (I don't have access to a Mac). This means designs are tested on the latest versions of Firefox, Opera and Flock and IE 5. I am working on learning as much about accessibility as possible, so as to make websites I create/design as user-friendly as possible for the wide variety of people who use the internet.

As far as graphics go, I can't do anything *too* complicated at the moment as I do not have the equipment to do so! However I am hoping to remedy this shortly and the evidence will be available when I do!
